Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski

Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, Polish-American chemistry the J.C. Warner University Professor of Natural Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University, Professor of Centre Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences in Lodz, Poland, winner the 2015 Dreyfus Prize in the Chemical Sciences for the developed the process of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), cited by the Dreyfus Foundation as being the most important advance in polymer synthesis in the last half a century.


Professor Matyjaszewski, Doctor honoris causa University of Lodz (Poland), Ghent University (Belgium) and Russian Academy of Science has received many honors, including election to the US National Academy of Engineering, becoming a Fellow of the American Chemical Society, winning the Wolf Prize (2011), the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Medal of the Polish Chemical Society, the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science (2004), Polymer Science and Engineering ACS Awards (2007, 2012), the inaugural AkzoNobel North America Science Award (2013).
